Cyclist convicted for Murder after Widower

Kim Briggs, 44, an HR official and mother of two, was crossing a street in east London when she was hit by Charlie Alliston, 20, in February a year ago.

Alliston, at that point 18, who was riding a bike without a front brake, has been sentenced "wanton or enraged driving" under a 150-year-old law.

The pivotal case was the first-since forever time a cyclist had indicted for homicide. However Alliston was cleared of the more good offense following seven days in length trial.

Paying tribute to his "brilliant spouse," he stated: "I should attempt to carry on with my life and bring my kids up as Kim did. Encompassed by energy, sympathy, silliness, and satisfaction."

Alliston's Planet X bicycle, which he had purchased a month before the crash for £470, was intended for riding in a velodrome and was not legitimate to use out and about without being changed to include a front brake.
